Zase hory/Again mountains

Výstup to byl docela náročný, zvlášť když mě pak rozbolelo koleno - no zasloužilý tělocvikář.
As I wrote before I had the possibility to see one Czech ODA project. The whole official name is like this - Monitoring of alpine glacial lakes and protection of population against the catastrophical consequences of floods caused by destruction of moraine barrages. I was in the region close to Bishkek where the lake of Adigyne glacier is being monitored as well as the river valley below this lake. We climbed to 3700 m with the other workers of the projects. There is a small meteorological station and small house used for the research there. The climbing was kind of little bit demanding especially when my knee started to hurt - yes a very worthy PE student. I stayed finally 3 days with the project group and I also helped a little bit when doing measurements in the valley - well, my geographical studies were useful :-) So, once more thanks to all people from Geomin, Faculty of Science of Charles University and local workers:-) You can see mainly pictures of mountains, lakes, and glacier in the next link, ENJOY as I did!!!

Habitat for Humanity

A přesně?

Well finally - what am I doing here? I am here as a volunteer surprisingly :-) I work with organisation called Habitat for Humanity - www.habitat.elcat.kg Therefore I try to do what is necessary and just needed. In the meantime I also work on my everyday work at my Department :-) - trying to have some new contacts, information and so on.... Habitat for Humanity is an American NGO working in the field of housing poverty - very actual topic in Kyrgyzstan.....
And what I have been doing exactly? I helped with writing of project, some translations and documents typing and exactly NOW I am trying to develop a strategy how to attract more local volunteers to cooperate with Habitat :-) I like this theme!!! Therefore I will do some presentations at Universities here in Bishkek :-)

Lake Issyk Kul/ jezero Issyk Kul a další

Well some other pictures - I went with Habitat to Issyk Kul lake. They had there a seminar and I had the possibility to enjoy the incredible lake, to get burnt and also to go to the mountains.

Naryn and At-Bashi

Here are some pictures from my trip to almost Chinese border. I didnt go alone, but with some friends from Bishkek and we were living with the family in At Bashi.http://picasaweb.google.com/simsonka224/NarynAtBashiTashRabat

Čas utíká / Time is running

Yes, for sure I´m very sorry that I didn´t write for such a long time but I was enjoying Kyrgyzstan and all its coulours and nice and bad parts :-) I went for some other trips, now only south Kyrgyzstan is missing to my mosaic of the whole country. I discovered almost the Chinese border with many trucks going from and to China :-( I was swimming in a great lake Issyk Kul where the water is incredibly cleaaaaaaaaaaaaar - really you can watch your body all the time :-) and I went to Adigyne (nice place in the mountains near Bishkek) with nice Czech guys from one Czech Official Development Assistance Project - thanks (http://www.geomin.cz/?menu=3)!!! I went to the cinema to see a movie in Russian :-) well I understood something............

I´have been here since one week. I spent 2 days in the countryside with my great colleague - really adventure going there (our car has broken in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere in the mountains:-) and then amazing mountains and people around me. and of course I work also and I try my best to speak Russian - sometimes it is very funny - just my Czech converted into Russian, but sometimes it works. Enjoy pictures!!!

Vanoce / Christmas

A v tomto pripade to urcite plati. Jo a chybi mi snih.
Deti spis pisou o darky Trem kralum a to teprve bude :-)
Skoro kazda rodina stavi svuj vlastni Betlem a nektere jsou opravdu obrovskeeeeee

How is the Mexican Christmas like?
Important - it is really hot!!!! I even was on the beach and I was swimming!!! Did you get it? At Christmas time!!! Incredible for me. But as you know - different country, different customs and habits. Well but I miss the snow a lot!!! Could you send some, please?
We had the Christmas tree 3 weeks before the Christmas in my family. And I think that it is like this in all the Mexican families. Also the houses are decorated and there was a big Christmas tree in the main square. Here in Mexico Christmas is the real family festivity, the whole family is united. My family went for the Christmas service to the church at 9 am. After they put the new born Jesus to the creche and we went for the midnight dinner with the whole family. Together we were 20 I think. After the dinner the celebration went on - singing, dancing,... My fanily is not used to sahre the presents. Here in Mexico it depends on each family (some of them give presents the others dont). More common is to receive the presents from the Three Kings (6th January).
Almost each family builds its Betlehem - and sometimes they are really enormous....

Vsichni byli v maskach - andele, Tri kralove, pastevci, odchazejici rok,...
V detskem domove probihalo velke strojeni a maskovani

School Christmas celebration
Sometimes I help in the orphanage and that is why I could go with these kids to their school for the last celebration before Christmas. It was full of traditions and shows and everybody was disguised like angels, Three Kings, herdsmen, the Year going to be finished,...
As I mentioned before, There still many traditions alive in Mexico :-)

12. prosince

12th December
Normally I celebrate the Day of my name in the Czech Republic. But here in Mexico it was a bit different. the 12th December is the day of Virgin Maria of Guadalupe. It very important and famous day here in Mexico therefore I celebrated this day in a bit different way then I do it at home. The Mexicans celebrate it many days and 12th December is the last one. There are many processions in the street and people sing and dance and celebrate "La Guadalupana" - the Virgin Maria of Guadalupe. The traditions and customs are very strong here and that is why really like Mexcio and its people. The country is very rich in this way - culture, traditions, customs,...
Well this was my 12th december!!!
V centru a ve vsech mestskych ctvrtich probehla spousta pruvodu oslavujicich Pannu Marii Guadalupskou - lidi zpivali, bubnovali, drzeli svicky a proste oslavovali.
There were many processions in the town center and in all the districts. People were singing, drumming, walking with candles and just enjoying the celebration.

Trosku pozpatku 1 / Couple of days backwards1

No ja bojuje se i tu v Mexiku a v Cordobe.

Hello my dear English speaking friends. I'm sorry for not writing such a long time, but you know :-) Now I will share evetything I have lived in the last months.

well, 1st December is a world day of Fighting against AIDS and HIV. In Mexico we were fighting also :-) Thanks to my Colombian friend Sheryl I took part in an event organised in Cordoba. We were distributing the information material about HIV/AIDS, condoms and organising the concert. It was really cool and I had never seen so many Mexican rasta people together. I was listening to a Mexican reggae (Antidoping) and it was amazing!!! I enjoyed it a lot!!!
Here you are some pictures from the event.
